Cloud computing is forcing a change in government IT architectures, and newly released strategies for digital government and shared services will require agencies to use cloud computing and virtualization technologies. As CIOs strive to cut costs and improve performance, cloud technology is a compelling approach and can be purchased using operation and management funds rather than traditional, lengthy contract processes. Still, there are concerns about controls over data, security, and reliability. This conference offers technology insight and best practices for planning, implementing, and reaping the benefits of cloud computing.

Track 1: Planning for and Acquiring Cloud Solutions

Experience is the best teacher, and with many agencies already reaping the benefits of cloud services, IT organizations can learn from the challenges and triumphs of their efforts. From choosing the right service providers and addressing architecture issues to updating workforce skills and understanding budget implications, sessions in this track are packed with case studies and lessons learned.

Track 2: Implementing Cloud Solutions – Insight and Experience

This track will provide working examples of government use of Software as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Infrastructure as a Service.  Sessions will highlight the role of government program and contracting offices, systems integrators, and technology providers.
